About
Born and raised on the Connecticut shoreline, Dilan Rojas has been singing on stages, performing in instrumental ensembles, and teaching future musicians for over 10 years. In the year 2022, he founded his own music studio to inspire confidence in other young singers and has since sent students to schools including The University of Maryland in College Park, Harvard University in Princeton, and the Hartt School of Music in Hartford.
Background
Dilan Rojas began his musical journey at the age of 8. Originally an instrumentalist, Dilan began on the trombone and quickly moved into the rest of the low brass, first euphonium and then tuba. It wasn’t until 13 however that Dilan first dipped his toes into learning about the voice.
Dilan received guidance from esteemed mentor Ryan Driscoll early in his vocal study. Competitions led him to perform at incredible venues, including the Grand Ol’ Opry in Tennessee, Carnegie Hall in New York City, and Kodak Hall in Rochester. Dilan received his Bachelor of Music (BM) from the University of Maryland in College Park. While at the University, Dilan studied under decorated Professors of Voice Martha Randall and Kevin short. Dilan has had the honor of working with other esteemed leaders in the music world including Ben Crawford, Ron Remke, Marin Alsop, Tim Janis, and Edward Maclary.
Teaching Philosophy
In order to have vocal growth or a successful vocal transition you need:
1. Confidence in yourself and your voice
2. Awareness of your voice, body, and mind
3. A consistent, strategic practice routine
4. A strong technical foundation
Outside the Studio
Outside of his musical endeavors, Dilan runs a business selling Pokemon cards as well as other Pokemon themed art, clothing, and accessories sourced from local artists and craftsmen. When he’s not in the studio working with his students, or cooking up a new recipe, you can find him around Maryland at pop ups for his business.
